Athleticwear Mega-Brand Outdoor Voices Reviews Legal Options

As you may have seen yourself over the weekend, Outdoor Voices' founder and CEO Tyler Haney took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday to address speculation that Bandier had ripped off the Austin-based activewear stalwart's recognizable colour-blocking, alleging that each item in Bandier's new line with Net-a-Porter, We Over Me, is a copycat of a pre-existing Outdoor Voices style.

Bandier, however isn't going to go quietly into the night: On Monday, the retailer's CEO Neil Boyarksy told such outlets as Fast Company and Racked that Outdoor Voices "does not own [colour-blocking] as a style of design."

In today's highly competitive environment, brands are becoming more committed than ever to protecting their established intellectual property rights, which are at the heart of the brand’s identity, and to ending once and for all exploitation of distinctive trademarks.

Buying Intelligence offers ongoing reviews of products entering our customers market giving them unprecedented visibility of range strategies that may impact their business.
